While the house was in the right spot and oriented the right way, Seafarm has been subject to transformative change — a from-the-ground-up rethink within beautiful, natural habitat with key rooms facing north and ocean winds made manageable by banks of moveable glass doors.

Sandstone was sourced from nearby Gosford Quarries and used in large-scale solid blocks, rather than as cladding, to ground the project, while a natural regrading and sculpting of the landscape settles the house completely into its site.

The project’s sustainability and technology systems were equally ambitious. A geothermal loop, drilled to 130 metres, provides water-based cooling and heating throughout the home, supported by a solar and battery installation capable of powering the property for five days without sunlight. The wellness facilities — magnesium float tank, sauna, gym, ice bath and spa — were finished to an exceptional standard throughout.
